Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy, often called "talk therapy," is a method of treating mental health issues and daily stressors through conversation with a trained professional. It involves exploring thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to promote positive change and improve overall well-being. The goal is to help individuals understand their issues, develop coping mechanisms, and lead more fulfilling lives.

Hi, I am Allison!

If you are a new client, please feel free to book a free 15-minute consultation call whenever fits for you, or an initial intake session (in-person ONLY Monday’s 12-9pm). Thank you!

I started this therapy practice because I know life is messy and hard to schedule, and that shouldn’t be a barrier to getting help. I want to help you meet your goals while meeting you where you are at, realistically - that might be in the comfort of your living room with your pets curled up in your lap or from your car in the parking lot on your lunch break, or it might be on the comfy chairs in my Orillia office. I hold an Honours Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto and a Graduate Level Diploma in Art Therapy with the Toronto Art Therapy Institute. I am a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. I also hold certifications as a First Responder Treatment Provider (CFRTP) and a Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) through the International Trauma Training Institute and EverGreen Certifications. I have been practising psychotherapy for 8 years in various capacities, including youth in mental health treatment facilities and youth justice facilities, adult offenders in provincial jails and seniors in long-term care. For the past 5 years, my focus has been supporting children and adolescents with anxiety, depression, and major life stressors/transitions in a private group practice. My current focus is supporting teens and adults in navigating their relationships, emotions, and life transitions, ultimately helping them explore and find themselves. In this process, I also aim to support first responders or their partners to navigate the hardships of trauma and the culture that goes along with such a profession.

Healing starts with one conversation.
